SIALKOT, Aug 4: A youth was shot dead by dacoits near Kotli Daasu Singh, Daska, on Friday. Sajjad along with his friends was going on a motorcycle when two armed men stopped them and started looting them. When Sajjad resisted, the dacoits shot him dead and fled firing in the air.

Motra police have registered a case.

STREET CRIME: Social, trade, business and religious circles have expressed concern over the rising graph of street crime.

Talking to newsmen, the local traders said street crime was on the rise in the district especially in Sialkot city, Daska, Bhopalwala, Sambrial, Uggoki, Pasrur, Chawinda and Badiana.

They alleged the criminal activities were on the rise owing to the poor police patrol on link roads and along the canal banks.

They said travelling by motorcycle had also become dangerous. — Correspondent
