RAWALPINDI, Aug 4: The Punjab government has released about Rs500 million budget for colleges of the district for the current fiscal year.

The current budget is 7 per cent more as compared to the previous budget. The finance department of the provincial government has released Rs3.7 million for the directorate of colleges while for the 32 colleges, both boys and girls, Rs490 million has been released.

It is relevant to mention that 10 per cent budget for un- development work while 5 per cent development budget has been increased.

Rs100.5m for schools: The Punjab government under the third phase has released Rs100.50 million for the provision of missing facilities in all state-run schools. This was stated by EDO (education) Syed Ansar Wazir Haider while talking to this agency here on Friday. He said the provincial government was utilising available resources to provide all facilities in the government-run schools.—Agencies
