LAHORE, Aug 3: Three army men were killed and another 10 sustained injuries in a cylinder blast at a canteen of an army unit in south cantonment area here on Thursday evening.

According to an ISPR release, an inquiry has been ordered into the incident. It said that the injured had been shifted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH).

The press release did not give the names of the victims and was also silent on the condition of the injured.

Reporters were denied access to the place of incident and CMH. Garrison Security Force’s vehicles were patrolling the area.

It is learnt that the explosion ripped through the canteen of a Frontier Force (FF) unit based in RA Bazaar at 10:30pm. The FF personnel were taking dinner at the canteen close to their barracks when the gas cylinder exploded.
