KARACHI, Aug 3: Three ships including Weston carrying 30,000 tons of sugar are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.
Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where five ships, Hyundai Highway, Maersk Alabama and El-Termerario, to unload and load containers, Johar and Victoria-1, to offload crude oil were berthed.
Five vessels, Tai He, APL Jeddah, Lalzar, Al-Jaber and Iron Butterfly departed on Thursday, while Shuja, Maersk Alabama, Hyundai Highway, Dusita Naree, El-Temerario, Johar, Team Leopard and Victoria-1 are due to sail out on Friday.
Owing to rain, cargo handling activity at the wharves remained slow as was reflected in sharp decline in the total tonnage at 64,257 tons including 10,385 tons of export cargo and 53,872 tons of import tonnage.
The following ships are due on Friday: Oel Aishwarya, Orient Independence, with containers and Weston, with sugar.
