KARACHI: Aug 3: Engro Fertiliser Company has submitted SoQ (Statement of Qualification) for the allocation of 100mmcfd gas which the company plans to use for setting up a new fertiliser plant near Qadirpur gas field, the company’s management told analysts in a briefing on Monday.

The government has already announced that the gas would be allocated through competitive bidding. “The management stated that if allocated to Engro, the company intends to establish 1.15m tons per annum capacity ammonia complex with a cost estimate of$900-1,000m,” said Atif Malik, equity analyst at JS Capital Markets, who attended the briefing.

Last date for submission of SoQ is Aug 15, after which pre-qualification would take place by the end of September 2006 with the bidding process expected to be completed in October 2006.
