‘Alternative rail route by Friday’

By Our Correspondent

HYDERABAD, Aug 2: Railways authorities said on Wednesday that an alternative route between the Dhabeji and Ran Pathani stations would be in place on Friday if weather permitted.

The train link between Karachi and Hyderabad was severed when a bridge over a stream was washed away on Sunday.

The railways Karachi division deputy superintendent said repairing the Gangar Bridge would be a long haul. “Repair of the bridge is not uppermost in our minds. We are seeking to restore the train link between Karachi and Hyderabad as early as possible,” he said.
