KARACHI, Aug 2: An Islamabad-bound flight of Aero- Asia returned to the Karachi airport after one of its engines had gone down.

Sources said the McDonald Douglas aircraft, carrying 126 passengers, took off at 3:10pm. “The pilot informed the air traffic control that he wanted to land as one of the engine had shut down,” they added.

The sources said the pilot was advised to land back at the Karachi airport after dumping fuel.

The plane remained in air for two hours and it landed safely at 5:15pm, they said.
