‘Forward bloc’ heads for capital

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Aug 2: Leaders of the so-called forward bloc in the Sindh chapter of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League will be leaving for Islamabad on Friday for a meeting with the secretary of the National Security Council, Mr Tariq Aziz.

Sources close to the bloc which claims a membership of 20 MPAs pointed out that in view of the crisis in Sindh, the bloc would prefer not to take any step in the larger interest of political stability in the province.

They said that due to the deadlock all work in government offices had come to a standstill.

Members of the forward bloc are of the views that if the crisis prolonged, the people of Sindh would be the worst sufferers. They are going to Islamabad where, besides Tariq Aziz, they will meet the party high command to see what could be done to resolve the crisis.
