PESHAWAR, Aug 2: The Chief Secretary of NWFP, Mr Ejaz Ahmad Qureshi, on Wednesday convened a meeting to review progress on Kohistan Development Package and to discuss ways of expediting the pace of work on various schemes launched under the package.
The chief secretary said that the package of Rs150 million was announced by the provincial chief minister with a view to removing the backwardness of district Kohistan and directed the concerned officials to accelerate pace of work on the package ensuring quality.
He further directed the officials to complete work on the local degree college and hospital on priority basis as the district is deficient in health and education facilities. He assured that additional funds if required would be arranged by the government to complete these important public welfare schemes.
He assured the participants that the proposals regarding deficient staff would also be accommodated.
Regarding power supply issues, the chief secretary asked the ACS to hold meeting with the Wapda authorities to resolve electricity needs of the district.—PPI
