KARACHI: 15 vehicles, 34 cellphones taken away

KARACHI, Aug 2: At least 15 vehicles and 34 cellphones were taken away on Wednesday. Police sources said two cars were snatched at gunpoint while four were stolen in different areas. Four motorcycles were snatched at gunpoint while five were stolen in the city.

At least 13 people were deprived of their cell phones while 21 cell phones were stolen.

Seized: The Customs Preventive Collectorate seized 3.9kg heroin from an Entebbe-bound passenger at airport on Wednesday.

According to a spokesman for the Customs, baggage search of a Pakistani passenger, Abdul Faisal, who was leaving for Entebbe via Dubai by an Emirates flight, resulted in the recovery of 3.9 kgs of heroin. It was concealed in the insulation wall of the refrigerating chamber of the water dispenser carried by the passenger.
