Pakistan sends another relief consignment to Lebanon today

ISLAMABAD, Aug 1: Pakistan will dispatch another consignment of relief goods to Lebanon on Wednesday, says a statement. On Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz’s directives, two more C-130 aircraft each carrying five metric tons of medicines and food stuff as well as blankets and tents would leave here on Wednesday.

Earlier, two C-130s had delivered 20 metric tons of relief supplies to the Lebanese High Relief Commission at Latakkia Airport, Syria, on July 29.

On Tuesday, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtyar handed over the consignment to the Lebanese charge d’ affaires in Islamabad.

He expressed grief and anguish on behalf the government and people of Pakistan over the continued loss of lives and destruction in Lebanon caused by the Israeli aggression.—Our Reporter
