The DCO assured the villagers that they should not worry as the administration was taking measures to cope with any eventuality.
The DCO said that emergency centres had been set up and all officials concerned had been put on alert.
On Tuesday, the rain started at about 5pm and continued for an hour followed by intermittent drizzling till the filing of this report.
About six houses were collapsed in the coastal village of Kandri Mallah.
The rain is likely to continue for the next 24 hours as warned by the district administration.
Roads in Badin were flooded with rainwater and low-lying areas of different localities were inundated.
Complaints about power failure were also received while a large number of telephones were rendered out of order.
Following the rain for the last three days, several villages of coastal area including Kerhiyo Bhandari, Haji Hajjam, Sheikhani, Gari and others came under water.
The people residing in the coastal area are in grip of fear that they could face a tragedy they had met in the year 2003 when about 500 people were killed in devastating rain and flood.
HYDERABAD: Rain continued for the fourth consecutive day on Tuesday in the city.
It started raining at 4pm and the downpour continued till the filing of this report. As a result, rainwater accumulated on roads.
Ankle-deep water was standing on Gari Khata road, station road, Sabzi Mandi chowk, Station road, Qazi Abdul Qayoom road and Latifabad-7 and 10.
One side of the Fatima Jinnah road remained blocked since Sunday as rainwater was being drained by Wasa officials.
Power breakdowns of varying duration continued to play hide and seek in different areas.
Two hours power breakdown was reported at 30MGD filter plant and after 5pm there was no disruption.
It affected supply for brief period in the city.
The Met office could not be contacted as no one attended phone.
SANGHAR: Rain continued with intervals in the entire district for the fourth consecutive day.
The cotton crop suffered considerable loss as moisture and humidity have caused shredding of cotton flowers.
The farmers said that hot and humid conditions were favourable for pest.
They said that due to rains, they were not able to spray pesticides.
MIRPURKHAS: Rain continued on Tuesday intermittently in parts of Mirpurkhas, Umerkot and Tharparkar districts.
The rainwater submerged low-lying areas in several towns.
The power supply was suspended following rain in these districts.
The water supply remained disrupted due to power outage, causing hardships to people.
Owing to intermittent rain, business activities also remained suspended.
Traffic was thin on roads.
