KARACHI: City govt criticised for poor performance
KARACHI, Aug 1: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal on Tuesday bitterly criticized the city government for its inefficiency to cope with the situation after the ongoing rains, saying the rain had exposed the performance of ruling group.
In a joint statement issued here, MMA legislators Muhammad Hussain Mehnati, Abdul Sattar Afghani and Muhammad Laiq Khan deplored that not a single development project had been completed by the CDGK despite its tall claims of transforming Karachi into one of the most developed cities of the world.
"The entire city has been dug up by the city authorities, which turned the pleasant rainy season into misery for the Karachiites. Tens of citizens have lost their lives, while motorists have to leave their vehicles on the roads inundated with rain and sewage."
They said that instead of paying heed to problems facing the masses, the partners in the Sindh coalition government had started a tug of war for more powers and authority and added the rift between Sindh coalition government was for grabbing more lands and to kill merit in recruitment.—PPI
