SIALKOT, July 30: The construction of an international standard expo centre is briskly under way on self-help basis by the business community under the supervision of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI).

SCCI senior vice-president Faisal Mehmood Khan said here on Sunday that the business community had undertaken the project after establishment of a dry port, export processing zone (EPZ) and international airport on self-help basis.

He said local exporters had generated Rs142 million for timely completion of the expo centre project. He said the chamber had allocated Rs20 million from its own resources for the centre being built on three kanals adjacent to the SCCI building. The project would be completed in two years, providing an opportunity to local exporters to display their products. — Correspondent
