Robbers kill landlord

VEHARI, July 30: A landlord was shot dead while three other family members were also injured seriously on resistance during a dacoity on Sunday at Chak 259/EB in Burewala tehsil.

Reports said that some 10 masked dacoits entered the house of Muhammad Yousaf, held the inmates hostage at gunpoint and started collecting cash, valuables and ornaments. For offering resistance, intruders opened fire, killing Yousaf instantly and injuring seriously Muneer Ahmed, Shamim Bibi and Ismael. They were admitted to the Burewala THQ Hospital in serious condition. The dacoits escaped from the scene after committing the crime.

Burewala Sadar police have registered a case.

Meanwhile, Vehari DPO Tassaduq Hayat constituted a special police team for the early arrest of dacoits-cum-murderers.
