KARACHI: Sana expresses concern over political situation

By Our Reporter

KARACHI, July 30: The Sindhi Association of North America (Sana) on Sunday expressed concern over the emerging political situation in the country following MQM ministers and advisers’ resignations, and demanded that the people of Pakistan should know what was the quid pro quo for the dramatic reversal and on what terms.

Sana chief Aziz Narejo in an emailed message said that the ‘politics of coercions and deceit’ was aimed at making the ‘proxy of military dictators stronger’ by taking away rights of the majority of the people of Sindh.

Since the military regime cobbled together the present coalition in Sindh, the MQM, a government partner, had not had very cordial relations with any of the Sindh chief ministers, he said, adding that it had been mainly because the MQM had constantly demanded and tried to exercise more powers and authority.

People needed to know about the new ‘deal’, he said, adding that they needed to know what was the bone of contention and what the MQM had been offered to keep the shaky coalition intact.
