PESHAWAR, July 29: Parliamentarians from the NWFP, including members of the National Assembly and Senate will hold a meeting with members of the provincial assembly here on August 1 to evolve a consensus on various issues related to the province.

Federal Minister Sumaira Malik, Salim Saifullah and Ghazi Ghulab Jamal would represent the centre.

The legislators are expected to discuss issues like net hydel profit, shifting of Wapda to the NWFP, renaming of the province and the NFC Award.

“ The meeting is organised to enable members of the National Assembly and the Senate representing the province to meet lawmakers of the NWFP so that they could adopt a collective opinion on key issues,” MPA Arshad Khan, organiser of the meeting said here on Saturday.

Mr Arshad, representing PPP in the NWFP Assembly said that almost all parties held similar views on key issues but they were hampered by lack of coordination. Invitation for the meeting had been extended to MMA’s chief Qazi Hussain Ahmad, secretary-general Maulana Fazlur Rahaman and federal Interior Minister Aftab Sherpao. —PPI
