US to help improve Punjab police working


RAWALPINDI, July 28: The US authorities have offered assistance to the Punjab police to improve investigation system of police, an official source said on Friday. The cooperation to help the police improve its investigation system was extended by a US delegation led by Ed Routh who held a meeting with Inspector General of Police Punjab Ziaul Hassan Khan.

The source said the IGP appraised the US delegation that several long term and short term measures are being taken by the Chief Minister Punjab to improve the performance of police and change of Thana Culture.

The IGP also informed the US delegation that after the success of patrolling post project the Punjab chief minister had given approval for new traffic police to streamline the traffic system of the big cities of Punjab on modern lines.

Ziaul Hassan said a huge budget had been allocated by the Punjab chief minister to improve the performance of police department.—Staff Reporter
