KARACHI, July 28: Three ships carrying containers and furnace oil were allotted berths at QICT and Fotco Terminal during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Friday. Meanwhile, one more container ship also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy stood at 78pc as eight ships, Thuringia Express, KIA Waleed, Xiang Wan, Pos Dignity, Precius, Adrekni, Kudam and Chem Adriatic, were busy in loading and unloading containers, cement, sugar, canola seeds, furnace oil and chemicals.A cargo volume of 87,906 tons comprising 71,611 tons of import and 16,295 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was active as Thuringia Express and Chem Adriatic left the port while KIA Waleed and Xiang Wan were due to depart.

Four ships, Sima Paya, Orient Patriot, Mega-1 and Ikan Selar, carrying containers and sugar were due to arrive on Saturday.
