Musharraf unhappy

ISLAMABAD, July 27: President Gen Pervez Musharraf soon after arrival in Islamabad from Karachi presided over a meeting with his special advisers Tariq Aziz and Hamid Javed to discuss the latest development vis-a-vis resignations by ruling coalition partner MQM and political situation in Sindh.

During the meeting the president expressed his astonishment that why MQM leadership did not take up the issue while he was in Karachi and the ‘bubble burst’ after he left the city.

The sources said that it was decided that President Musharraf would handle the issue and would soon, probably on Friday or Saturday, speak to MQM leader Altaf Hussain and discuss the matter with him besides seeking a written explanation from him.

The meeting also discussed the recent consensus between ARD and MMA regarding a no-confidence move against prime minister Shaukat Aziz.—Online
