MUZAFFARABAD, July 27: Two women and an infant were killed and four other people were injured when their house collapsed due to torrential rain in the southern Bagh district of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, officials said on Thursday.

The incident occurred in the remote Khurshidabad village in the Forward Kahuta sector on Wednesday night, the deputy commissioner, Bagh, Mohammad Zafar Khan, told Dawn on telephone.

The Forward Kahuta sector, which straddles along the Line of Control, does not have any direct telecommunication link with other areas of the state.

The dead were identified as Parveen, 28, wife of Mohammad Arif; their one-year-old daughter, Namra Arif, and Shaheen Akhtar, 25, wife of Khurshid Ahmed.
