KARACHI: Nadra swift centre

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, July 27: Inaugurating a swift centre for issuing computerized national identity cards in Gulshan-i-Iqbal Town, the director-general of NADRA, Sindh, Brig Abid Haider Kazmi, said here on Thursday that 90 per cent Karachiites have already obtained their CNIC.

Having a capacity to prepare 100,000 CNICs daily throughout the country, the NADRA is, at present, preparing 30,000 cards per day, he added.Speaking on the occasion, Gulshan Town’s Nazim, Mohammad Wasay Jalil said with the opening of the swift centre, 1.2 million population of the town would benefit as they would now be able to get their CNICs and submit their utility services’ bills at the swift centre located on the premises of their own Town administration’s building, instead of visiting Awami Markaz.

Referring to NADRA’s plan for establishing a network of swift centres, Brig Kazmi said initially 12 swift centres have been set up while 70 machines have installed in various parts of the city where people can deposit their utility service organizations’ bills round-the-clock.
