ISLAMABAD, July 26: Defending champions Pakistan won their quarter-final 2-1 against Germany and moved into the semi-finals of the team event of the World Men's Junior squash championship at Palmerston North, New Zealand on Wednesday.

The semi-finals will be played on Thursday.s

Results:

Yasir Butt bt Florian Silbernag 9-4, 9-4, 9-2; Simon Rosner bt Aamir Atlas 9-5, 9-4, 10-8; Farhan Mehboob bt Carsten Schoor 9-2, 9-1, 9-6.

Meanwhile, Khayal Mohammad and Majid Khan moved into the second stage of the qualifying round of the CIMB Malaysian Open squash tournament at Kuala Lumpur.

Khayal got bye while Majid Khan won his match against Malaysia’s Mohammad Nafzahizam 11-8, 11-9, 11-6.

Pakistan's Mansoor Zaman and Shahid Zaman are already in the main draw of the tournament.—APP
