KARACHI: Dissatisfaction over probe into Turabi killing expressed

KARACHI, July 26: The leaders of Shia Ulema Council Pakistan (SUCP) on Wednesday expressed dissatisfaction over the investigations into the assassination of Allama Hassan Turabi, and stated that the government was complicating the situation.
The asked the president and chief justice of the Supreme Court to take notice of the situation in the best interest of the country.
A Sindh minister, they said, had announced a judicial inquiry under a judge of the Sindh high court, but even notification has not been issued, rather innocent workers were being implicated and sent behind bars.
Maulana Syed Zamin Abbas Zaidi, Maulana Syed Nazir Abbas Naqvi,Syed Kausar Hussain Zaidi, Allama Syed Qamber Naqvi (acting president of the council Sindh chapter) said no compensation had, so far, been announced for the family of the assassinated leader.
We had handed some people to the police, but they were set free on the second day in a bid to hide the government’s inabilities during acts of arson. The SUCP asked the government to stop harassing its workers and killers of Turabi be arrested immediately.
The chehlum of Turabi would be held on Aug 26 at Nishtar park, and will be attended by important personalities both within the country and abroad.
