Sara improves ITF rankings

By A Sports Correspondent

KARACHI, July 25: Sara Mahboob, country’s top woman tennis player, has attained 1543rd position in the latest ITF World Juniors ranking, taking a big leap of 400 places. She arrived from Cairo the other day after competing in two Egypt International Junior Tennis Championships where she earned 10 ranking points.

In the first leg she went down to fourth seed Egyptian Menna Nagdy in pre quarterfinals. In doubles, she teamed up with a Russian player and lost in the first round.

She made first round exit in the next stage after going down to top seed Yasmin Hamza. Pairing with an Egyptian, the pair failed to go beyond quarterfinals in doubles.
