JHANG, July 25: A woman and her son were killed while her husband and son-in-law injured over a land dispute in Jaboana village, 40 kilometres from here, in the early hours of Tuesday.

According to police, Zulfiqar of Jaboana had a land dispute with one of his relatives, Iqbal. Zulfiqar, his son Amjad, wife Nooran and son-in-law Bashir were asleep in the courtyard when three men, armed with hatchets, entered his house by scaling the boundary wall.

They attacked the sleeping family and chopped the head of Nooran and one of the arms of Amjad, while Zulfiqar and Bashir sustained serious injuries. Amjad succumbed to his injuries before getting any medical aid.

The Athara Hazari police have registered a case on the evidence given by the injured men. No arrest has so far been made.
