RAWALPINDI, July 25: The Anti-Narcotics Force recovered 504kg charas and a huge quantity of ammunition during two separate crackdowns in Rawalpindi and Attock, the authorities said on Tuesday.

They said a raiding party recovered 504kg charas concealed in 393 leather jackets and arrested two persons. The consignment was stored at a petrol pump near the motorway chowk, GT road, Rawalpindi.

The arrested persons were identified as Sardar Khan, a resident of Peshawar, and Hameedullah of Swat.

In another crackdown in Attock, the ANF’s raiding party signalled a car (LZS-2765) coming from Peshawar to stop. But the driver sped away.

The ANF staff chased the car in two vehicles and finally forced him to stop near Kalu Dab and arrested three persons. The ANF recovered three Kalashnikovs, one 222-bore rifle, one revolver, seven magazines, two butts, one spring and 440 rounds of different bores from the vehicle.—Staff Reporter
