KARACHI, July 25: Shipping activity remained brisk at the port where four ships scheduled to load and offload containers, canola seeds and chemicals took berths at QICT, MPT and EVT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release here on Tuesday.

Six ships, two chemicals carriers, two bulk cargo carriers, one edible oil vessel and one oil tanker, sailed out, while Nedlloyd Muscat, Sinar Botang, El-Tango, Pos Dignity, Cheery Galaxy, Mukhtarah, Anette Kosan and Chemstar Eagle are currently occupying berths to load and offload containers, sugar, canola seeds, edible oil, furnace oil and chemicals.

A cargo volume of 80,533 tons comprising 58,382 tons import cargo and 22,151 tons export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,562 containers (TEUs) was handled during the last 24 hours.Six ships, Alabanda, Hau Shan Hai, Anette Kosan, Chemstar Eagle, Mukhtarah and Cheery Galaxy departed, while El-Tango and Sinar Botang are expected to sail on Tuesday.

Acx Plumeria, Precious, Adrekni and Yanaseni are expected to take berths on Tuesday. Dustia Naree and Constantinos, with sugar are due to arrive at the port on Tuesday, while Thuringia Express and Aurora, with containers are due to arrive on Wednesday.—APP
