KARACHI, July 25: Eight ships carrying yellow peas, tallow and containers are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was relatively slow where four ships, Worada Naree, to offload fertiliser, Qin Hai and Maersk Alabama, to unload and load containers, and Fuji, to offload cars, were berthed after the departure of as many.

The ships departed include Iran Shahryar, Renee, Sibi and Fuji, while Maersk Alabama, Serife and Kota Jasa are due to sail out on Wednesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was modest where a total tonnage of 45,856 tons comprising 3,382 tons of export cargo, including 2,073 tons of cement and 42,474 tons of import cargo, was handled.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Stolt Azalea, with 6,358 tons of tallow, Ding Jiang Hai, with 40,093 tons of yellow peas, SC Fortitude, with chemicals, Satha Bhum, Hyundai Sprinter, Y.M. Mondego, Corin Thaikos and Cape Santiago, with containers.
