Kasuri, Mottaki discuss Lebanon

ISLAMABAD, July 24: Iranian Foreign Minister Manocher Mottaki contacted his Pakistani counterpart Khurshid Kasuri on Monday on telephone to discuss the situation in Lebanon.

Foreign Minister Khurshid Kasuri expressed his anguish at the attack on Lebanon and loss of innocent lives as well as the destruction of its infrastructure.

He observed that it was necessary for the international community, including the OIC, to play a concrete role in bringing the great human tragedy to an end.

The two foreign ministers agreed that the OIC members of the Asean Forum could meet on the sidelines of the Asean Regional Forum meeting from July 27 to 29 in Kuala Lumpur.

Mr Mottaki informed Mr Kasuri that he had been invited by Malaysian Foreign Minister Syed Hamid Albar to attend the meeting.—APP
