Contempt notice issued to PVMC chief

By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, July 24: The Rawalpindi Bench of Lahore High Court on Monday issued a contempt notice on the president of Pakistan Veterinary Medical Council (PVMC) for violating orders of the superior court.

PVMC Registrar Dr Alamdar Hussain Naqvi had moved an application in the high court, stating that the council president, Dr Amjad, had sent him on forced leave.

He further argued in the application that the court had suspended his dismissal orders issued by Mr Amjad and reinstated him. “My case is sub-judice, but still I was sent on a two-month forced leave.”

The petitioner’s counsel, Shaista Altaf advocate, contended that in violation of court orders, the PVMC head sent Dr Alamdar on forced leave from July 18, and issued appointment notification of Dr Arfan as registrar/secretary of the veterinary council.
