KARACHI: Sattar Gabol laid to rest

KARACHI, July 24: Abdul Sattar Gabol, a PPP veteran who died on Sunday morning, was laid to rest in his family graveyard in Mewashah on Monday evening.

Earlier, his namaz-i-janaza was held at the Gabol Park after Asr prayers. A large number of people from different walks of life attended his funeral.

Prominent among them were federal ministers Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain and Shamim Siddiqui; Sindh ministers Syed Sardar Ahmed, Rauf Siddiqui and Adil Siddiqui; Adviser to the CM Ashfaq Mangi; legislators and leaders belonging to PPP, MQM and JI including Abdul Khalique Baloch, Kamal Azfar, Rashid Rabbani, Rafique Engineer, Dr Salim Hingoro, Waqar Mehdi and Habib Junedi; Justice (r) Sajjad Ali Shah; besides eminent politicians Mairaj Mohammad Khan and Yusuf Mastikhan; and MMA leaders Dr Mairajul Huda Siddiqui, Mohammad Hussain Mehnati and Abdul Sattar Afghani.

Soyem will be held on Tuesday between 11am and 3pm at Gabol House in Kalakot, Lyari Town.

PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto, Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Rahim and MMA chief Qazi Hussain Ahmed have condoled the death of Abdul Sattar Gabol.
