Man electrocuted

ISLAMABAD, July 23: A labourer was electrocuted here on Sunday, police said.

Abdul Rehman, 25, a resident of Bajaur Agency, was replacing a bulb in his house located in the jurisdiction of Sihala police when he received the shock.

He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Our staff reporter from Pindi adds: Four robberies were committed and three cars were taken away in different parts of the city during the last 48 hours, police said.

Dr Rizwan Mehmood Raja, a dentist, was going home from his clinic in Sadiqabad when a gang of robbers started chasing his car and forced him to stop at a deserted place.

The robbers snatched the cash and two cellphones from the doctor and sped away in their car.

Mohammad Ali lodged a complaint with the Cantt police that he was on his way to home when four car riders intercepted him and snatched Rs20,000 from him.

Iqbal Hussain Shah told police that four persons dragged him inside their car in Saddar and robbed him of Rs12,700, a cellphone and a wrist watch and pushed him out of their car near the COD, Adiala road.
