Flood warning for Uch Sharif
BAHAWALPUR, July 23: Several villages and localities near Panjnad headworks in Uch Sharif sub-tehsil limits, about 70km from here, were facing flood threat following rise in water level in Chenab river.
Reports said the low-lying areas likely to be affected included Ghafoorabad, Brakhtiari, Chakkar Noorwala, Beit Baloch and Beit Maachi. Residents of these areas along with their livestock have started shifting to safer places.
Recent rains in catchment areas of Chenab have raised water level near Uch Sharif. — Correspondent
