HYDERABAD, July 23: The city received light showers on Sunday night which continued for around 15 minutes. Small ponds of rainwater were formed on roads and streets.

As soon as it started raining, the city plunged into darkness.

A major part of the city was without power till the filing of this report.

An official of the Water and Sanitation Agency expressed fear the power outage for longer periods might affect the supply of water to the city.

MIRPURKHAS: Mirpurkhas, Umerkot and other adjoining towns received showers on Sunday after three-day heat spell.

The rainwater submerged main roads, streets and low-lying areas.

It began at 6:15pm and continued for 20 minutes.

The rain was accompanied by a storm which uprooted trees and signboards at many places prompting Hesco to suspend power supply to avert any acciddent.

Mirwah, Digri, Jhuddo, Naukot, Tando Jan Mohammad, Kot Ghulam Mohammad, Kunri, Umerkot, Pithoro, Samaro, Shadi Palli, Sufi Faqeer and Sindhri also received rains.
