KARACHI: Three killed in accidents

KARACHI, July 23: Three persons, including a four-year-old boy died, in road accidents on Sunday. A boy playing near his home in Rajput Colony, a shantytown near Moti Mahal in Gulshan-i-Iqbal, was hit by a truck. He died on the spot. The body was shifted to a hospital for autopsy, where he was identified as Abdul Sattar. Police impounded the truck and arrested its driver Jamil.

Two men on a motorcycle fell to the ground when a truck hit them in Ferozabad police limits. One of them suffered serious head injuries. They were taken to a hospital where Rafaqat Ali, 32, died. He was carpenter. Police collected information from the spot and came to know that an unidentified truck hit them and sped away.

In Block-M of North Nazimabad, a truck (JA-2794) ran over an elderly man while he was crossing the road. The man was shifted to a hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. The police impounded the truck but its driver escaped.
