Golf trials next month

KARACHI, July 22: Two phases of trials to select a three-member Pakistan squad to take part in the World Amateur golf championship for ‘Eisenhower Trophy’ start from Aug 21, said Sindh Golf Association on Saturday.

The first phase of trials played over 54 holes will be held at Karachi Golf Club from Aug 21 to 23.

The second phase of the trials will be conducted at Arabian Sea Country Club from Aug 24.

SGA will be organising the trials on behalf of the Pakistan Golf Federation, he maintained.

The SGA said next month's Chief of Naval Staff golf championship followed by Sindh Open will provide golfers prefect build-up for the national trials.

The World Amateur golf championship will be held in South Africa in October.

Besides selection of three players, a standby will also be picked.—APP
