RAWALPINDI, July 22: Punjab Professors and Lecturers Association (PPLA) Pindi Division has termed the decision of Sindh Government to ban teachers associations in the province as unlawful and undemocratic and demanded its revocation, says a press release here on Saturday.
President PPLA Mohammad Ilyas Qurashi and Secretary General Rauf Ahmed Shah said teachers associations had successfully been maintaining peace in educational institutions and guiding the students along with their other positive activities since establishment of Pakistan.
Educational environment has never been affected by the activities of the teachers and they had never sacrificed their teaching responsibilities for other activities, the union officials said.
All office bearers of teacher associations struggled against the policies that were repugnant to educational environment after fulfilling their institutional duties, they added.— A Reporter
