KARACHI, July 22: Federal Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao has rejected Indian government’s claim regarding Pakistan’s involvement in Mumbai train blasts and the presence of Dawood Ibrahim in Pakistan.
“He (Dawood Ibrahim) is not here. However, if any proof is provided about his presence anywhere in Pakistan, he will be arrested,” Mr Sherpao told newsmen at a passing-out parade of Pakistan Rangers, Sindh, on Saturday.
The interior minister termed the Indian government’s allegations unjust and ‘unfounded’, saying that like India, Pakistan was also a victim of terrorism.
The minister said that international community recognised Pakistan’s role in the war against terrorism.
He said that extremism and terrorism were still posed a “potential threat to Pakistan”, and the nation must help the government to root them out.
The minister said that the federal government had decided to take stern action to root out terrorism and other crimes in Sindh.
He announced to upgrade and regularise the anti-terrorist company of Rangers to an anti-terrorist wing.—Online
