CHARSADDA, July 21: People from different walks of life staged a demonstration here on Thursday to protest against postponement of construction work on a building for the Islamia College branch in Charsadda.

Awami National Party leader Hamid Khan Turangzai said that a branch of the college in Charsadda was a right of its people and the postponement of work was the result of the flawed education policy of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal government.

If the provincial government failed to complete the project, it would create unrest among the people, he warned.

The president of the Gandahar Union of Journalists, Sabz Ali Tareen, said the project had been inaugurated by Chief Minister Akram Durrani who should ensure completion of the project. Otherwise people who had donated land for the college would reclaim their property, he added.
