KARACHI, July 21: The Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT) and the Anjuman-i-Naujawanan-i-Islam (ANI) on Friday staged protest demonstrations against the Israeli aggression on Lebanon, Palestine, killing of innocent citizens and the silence of the ruling class of the Muslim world.
The IJT on Friday observed protest day and staged protest demonstrations outside mosques after Friday prayers in various parts of the city against the Israeli aggression and killings of innocent citizens in indiscriminate bombing of civilian areas.
Protest demonstrations were staged in various part of city including Saddar, Mehmoodabad, Boltan Market, Lyari, Defence, Shah Faisal Colony, Malir, Gulistan-i-Johar, Society, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Liaquatabad, North Karachi, Nazimabad and Orangi towns.
Protestors were carrying banners and placards and chanting slogans against the US, Israel and its aggression against innocent Lebanese, Palestinians. They also set ablaze the flags of Israel and the US.
Speaking on the occasion, speakers condemned killings of innocent citizens in indiscriminate Israeli bombing of civilian areas and vowed to continue supporting oppressed Muslims of Palestine, Lebanon and other occupied territories in the world.
They said that due to the criminal silence of Muslim rulers, Israel was prolonging its brutality and innocent citizens were continuously being killed. They alleged that the rulers of Pakistan were threatening their own citizens instead of supporting the innocent Lebanese and Palestinians.
They said that resolutions, passed in favour of Israel in the US parliament proved that the US was against the liberty of Muslims. They said that the US was the biggest enemy of Muslims and alleged that it was patronizing the brutality of Israel. The speakers appealed to the Muslim Ummah to get united and foil the conspiracy of anti-Muslim elements.--PPI
The Anjuman-i-Naujawanan-i-Islam (ANI) observed Friday as ‘Condemnation Day’ across the country and held protest rallies against Israel and the criminal silence of the Muslim rulers over the situation.
In Karachi, a large number of ANI activists, workers and people belonging to different walks of life attended the protest rally at Masjid-i-Aqsa in Keamari. Various resolutions condemning the Israeli savagery were also adopted on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, ANI chief Tariq Mehboob said the ongoing Israeli military raids on Lebanon and Palestine was a part of pre-planned conspiracies and all the anti-Islamic forces had been united against Islam and Muslims.
The ANI leader accused the governments of all the Muslim states of playing the role of mere puppets in the hands of the US and other colonial powers by remaining silent over the prevailing situation in the Middle East. They demanded that aggression against Lebanon and Palestine be stopped.
ANI (Liaquatabad Town) also took out a protest rally, led by Salim Attari, in front of the Karachi Press Club. The protestors were carrying banners, placards inscribed with slogans against Israel.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Attari demanded of the Arab League and the United States to take note of the Middle East situation.
