KARACHI, July 19: Leg spinner Ayazuddin achieved the unique distinction by performing two hat-tricks in Zone-I Whites’ 297-run victory over Zone-II Blues in the KCCA Inter-zonal Under-15 Cricket Championship at the Student Sports Ground on Tuesday.
In a remarkable spell of three overs, Ayaz took seven wickets for mere five runs, including five wickets in his third over, as Zone-II Blues were bundled out for 55 in 19 overs.
Ayaz first removed Usman Ghani for two on the last ball of his second over and then had Faizullah and Hamid Saeed with the first two balls of his third over.
After a dot ball, Ayaz took wickets of Mohammad Usman, Shoaib Rasheed and Imran to achieve the feat.
Earlier, batting first, Zone-I Whites piled up the biggest total of the tournament by scoring 352 in 48.4 overs. Umar Imtiaz hammered 119 with 14 fours and a six.
In another match at Asifabad Sports Ground, Zone-VII Whites defeated Zone-V Greens by 103 runs thanks to a brilliant all-round show by Hassan Anis.
Hassan blasted 100 with the aid of 12 hits to the boundary and took three wickets.
