SUKKUR, July 19: A number of goods trains were stranded at different railway stations after their drivers refused to work for more than 12 hours following directives from the ministry of railways.
The general secretary of Train Drivers Association, Abdul Qadir Mughal, said that the ministry through a letter had directed train drivers to drive 12 hours out of 24 hours.
The letter warned that if they drove beyond the fixed limit, they would be responsible for any accident which might occur after the fixed time, he said.
Under such stern directives the drivers had refused to drive beyond the fixed time, he said.
