GUJRANWALA, July 19: A judicial magistrate on Wednesday remanded 78 people deported from Spain in the custody of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

They were taken into custody by the FIA on a government directive and brought to Gujranwala.

They told the agency that they paid Rs800,000 per person to go abroad. They were taken to South Africa from where they were boarded on a boat for Spain. The Spanish navy caught them informed the Pakistani authorities.

The FIA passport cell was raiding to arrest the agents.

MATRIC RESULTS: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education would announce the result of secondary school annual examinations, 2006, on August 10 at 9am while gazette would be available at Habib Bank’s branches in Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Mandi Bahauddin and Hafizabad, said the board secretary here on Wednesday.
