KARACHI: MMA sees RAW behind killings

KARACHI, July 19: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) at a Shahadat Conference on Wednesday charged that terrorists trained by Indian secret agency RAW (Research and Analysis Wing) and backed by an ethnic group in Karachi were behind target killings of Ulema and political leaders in the city.

The conference was jointly organized by MMA and Anjuman-i-Hussaini in Gulistan-i-Jauhar and it was addressed by MMA leaders Maulana Asadullah Bhutto, Younus Barai, Hashim Siddiqui Advocate, Qari Abdur Rahman, Allama Nazir Abbass Naqvi, Syed Qutub Ahmed and others.

They alleged that government agencies, in collaboration with Indian-trained terrorists, carried out assassination of senior MMA leader Allama Hassan Turabi to create rift among Muslims of Sunni and Shia schools of thought and Nishtar Park carnage and Turabi's assassination were part of the same plot.

Speaking on the occasion, Naib Amir Jamat-i-Islami and MMA MNA Maulana Asadullah Bhutto said people had no faith in investigation agencies in Pakistan and they distort facts while government claims of arresting terrorists after every incident were never materialized.

He challenged government to declassify investigative reports of previous deadly incidents and carnage if it was sincere in maintaining peace and bringing terrorists to face justice.

Allama Qanber Abbass Naqvi alleged that agencies were behind the attack on Allama Hassan Turabi and Nishtar Park tragedy as they wanted Shias and Sunnis to kill each other, but Ulema foiled their nefarious designs. MPA Younus Barai also spoke.—PPI
