KARACHI, July 19: Six ships carrying containers and to load cement are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where seven ships were berthed. They are: Orient Independence, APL Jabel Ali, to unload and load containers, Al-Marwah and Lalazar to offload chemical and crude oil, Gundulic and Sagaing, to offload and load general cargo, Infinity to load cement.

Five ships, Kota Tampan, Maersk Alabama, Tai Harmony, Beluge Emotion, and Al-Marwah departed on Wednesday, while Barra, Precious, APL Jabel Ali, Darin Naree, Angara, Oel Patriot, Stolt Avance, Sagaing, Gundulic, Lalazar and Tai Shan Hai are due to sail out on Thursday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was active where a total tonnage of 0.138m tons comprising 4,478 tons of export cargo and 0.134m tons of import cargo including 4,217 tons of sugar was handled.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Oel Aishwarya, Calvin P Titus, Marcalabria, Iran Baabaei, with containers, Serife, with 39,000 tons of coal and Denden, to load 8,000 tons of cement.
