Khasadar shot dead, arms snatched

WANA, July 18: Suspected militants killed a Khasadar and snatched rifles from scores of others in Serwekai area of South Waziristan on Monday night. Masked men riding a pick-up raided Tanga, Nazarkhel, Alam Khan, Supply Toi and Targhoshi checkpoints and snatched 19 Kalashnikovs from law-enforcement personnel.

At Targhoshi, the attackers shot dead Khasadar Mohammad Hasham Khan when he refused to hand over his weapon. In North Waziristan, suspected militants attempted to kill a pro-government tribal elder, Malik Mohammad Rehman, but he escaped unhurt.
