KARACHI: 45 deprived of cars, cellphones, bikes

KARACHI, July 18: As many as 45 people were robbed of their cars, motorbikes, or cellphones in various localities here on Tuesday. Police said 30 mobile phones were taken away by thieves, of whom 13 were snatched at gunpoint and 17 others were stolen.Similarly, 15 vehicles were either snatched or stolen in various areas. Two cars were snatched at gunpoint and six others stolen while two motorbikes were hijacked and five others stolen.

Meanwhile, Anti Dacoity and Robbery Cell of Karachi Police arrested three alleged robbers for their involvement in snatching cellphones and cash from occupants of cars at a traffic signal in Chakiwara.

Police arrested Raheel, Rehan and Aamir on Mirza Adam Khan Road. Three TT pistols along with magazines and 12 rounds and 22 stolen mobile phones were also recovered from their possession, they added.

The arrested suspects used to deprive occupants of cash and cellphones at signals at gunpoint. The suspects were also allegedly involved in several house robberies, the police added.
