KARACHI: Use of hooters

Published July 19, 2006

KARACHI, July 18: Sindh Chief Secretary Fazlur Rehman has directed the home department and the police to check irregularities for bringing improvement in traffic system so that road users are rid of unnecessary and haphazard problems.

Presiding over a meeting at his office on Tuesday, the chief secretary made it clear that even at the highest level, it has been felt with concern that unnecessary and illegal use of hooters, fancy and emergency lights only create chaotic conditions in the traffic system.

He said it has been observed that even unauthorised persons are illegally using emergency facilities.—APP
