Aziz asks PIA to improve service

By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, July 15: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Saturday asked the Pakistan International Airline to take measures to cope with the unprecedented and precipitous increase in oil prices in the international market.

Chairing a meeting held to review performance of the national flag carrier, Mr Aziz said short- and long-term measures should be undertaken to cope with the situation.

He asked the PIA to adopt best practices being followed by other airlines in the international aviation sector. He said the PIA should benchmark its performance with its competitors by improving the quality of service.

He said outsourcing of services by the Pakistan International Airline to specialists in the market was a positive step.
